In which I bleed crimson
Considering that the Iron Bowl is fewer than 20 hours away, please indulge the following roundup of all things Crimson Tide today.
- Alabama head football coach Mike Shula is set to get a really fat pay raise and a contract extension after this season. He'll start making more than basketball coach Mark Gottfried, which is fine with me if it gets the Tide off any football-team list featuring Kentucky and Vanderbilt.
- You missed out on a moving experience if you never saw an Alabama game at Legion Field.
- If the 4-foot-7 Tide fan who attended the Iron Bowl one year wearing a "No, I'm not Terry Bowden" T-shirt isn't awesome, I don't know who is.
- What would Iron Bowl week be without cross-state hate columns in each university's student newspaper? The one from The Crimson White is solid, but I don't get the one from the Plains. You hate Bama fans so much that you chose to pay tuition to the Capstone for a while? Um, OK.
