Signed off too soon

Peter Jennings was one of the greatest broadcasters ever, a steady voice in times of trouble, and one of the few people who gave me hope for television journalism's future. He'll be missed.

He was far and away the best network anchor. I was saddened as well.

I can still hear his voice doing his nightly signoff. I read that his start in the anchor chair was a little shaky, but he moved passed the novice level and became one of the best in the business. He'll be tough to truly replace.

It was because of Peter Jennings that I began to take an interest in current events as a young adult. May he RIP, and may he be with God.
