Here come the Greek letters

Half of the six most intense Atlantic hurricanes on record have come this year. If Hurricane Wilma sticks to its projected path, seven hurricanes will have slammed into Florida in a little more than a year.

Is global warming to blame? Not entirely, but it can't be helping.

Like you I'm not sure what effect global warming is having on the hurricane season. But there is definitely something happening in the atmosphere that is causing unseasonal seasons. I would imagine that is also affecting factors that influence tropical storms and hurricanes.
